John Fisher Elected to GTIA – UK & Ireland Executive Council

As a member of the Executive Council, John will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the GTIA Community.

In October 2024, John Fisher, Founder and Managing Director of Westway IT, was elected to the GTIA Community—UK & Ireland Executive Council, the global non-profit trade association for the computing technology industry. This esteemed position is a testament to John's exceptional leadership abilities and his peers' trust and confidence in his vision for the future.

John joined GTIA (formally CompTIA) as a member in June 2022. The GTIA UK & Ireland community brings together technology professionals to discuss opportunities and global trends; offering shared best practices, training, insights and collaboration opportunities to help members showcase how technology can support and elevate British and Irish businesses. Its core goal is to help improve the future of the IT industry through its elected executive council, which comprises industry leaders and consultants.

As a member of the Executive Council, John will play a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the GTIA UK & Ireland Community. His responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with fellow council members to develop and implement initiatives that align with the organisation's mission and goals.
• Providing guidance and support to various teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Serving as a representative and advocate for the CompTIA UK & Ireland Community.
• Contributing to the growth and expansion of its reach.

This appointment further solidifies John's commitment to advancing and safeguarding the IT industry in the UK and Ireland and providing businesses with better IT support. His contributions are expected to have a lasting impact on the GTIA UK & Ireland Community, and the organisation looks forward to working closely with him to achieve their shared objectives.

John also meets with and supports members of the MSP community through various regional and local IT communities and events, such as Tech Tribe meetups in Bristol, West Midlands and South Birmingham. He also attends online meetings with the CompTIA UK & Ireland Community. His attendance will grow given his election to an executive council member.
