We’re proud to share that our Managing Director, John Fisher, has been recognised with the Future Leader Award at the 2025 UK & Ireland Spotlight Awards, hosted by the Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA).

Supporting our local business community

Under John’s leadership, Westway IT has become a trusted partner for businesses throughout Gloucestershire. By providing secure, reliable and forward-thinking IT services, we’ve helped businesses of all sizes tackle challenges, protect their operations and grow with confidence.

Whether it’s designing tailored solutions that improve day-to-day efficiency or offering practical advice to navigate new technologies, our goal has always been to help businesses overcome the tech challenges they face, with clear and impactful strategy, consolidated solutions and simple no-jargon advice.

Sharing knowledge through workshops

A big part of this mission is education. John regularly runs workshops across Gloucestershire to help local organisations better understand how to use technology to their advantage. These sessions give business owners and teams the tools and know-how to strengthen their systems, improve security and plan for the future.

It’s all about making technology work for people, so they can focus on what they do best.

Bringing IT leaders together

John also serves on the GTIA Executive Council, representing ambitious IT service providers like Westway IT within the IT community, and is the Deputy Leader of The Tech Tribe community in Bristol, a community dedicated to bringing IT business owners together to share ideas, support one another and strengthen our industry.

Through these initiatives, we’re not just delivering great IT support but we’re helping build a

For us, collaboration isn’t just a buzzword, it’s how we keep learning and evolving, so we can continue to deliver the best possible support to our clients.

A moment to reflect

The awards ceremony, held on 27 June in Manchester, brought together technology leaders from across the UK and Ireland. It was inspiring to see so many people and organisations recognised for their hard work and dedication.

“This award is a great honour. To be recognised within a community that’s not only helping me develop, but also giving me the chance to help others grow through meaningful discussions, education and mutual support,” John said. “The award shines a light on those dedicated to improving our community, and to me that’s recognition in itself for what I’ve been striving to do. It’s a wonderful, supportive environment that I’m truly proud to be part of. I look forward to all the amazing things ahead. There’s still so much more to come on this journey.”

Looking ahead

Being named Future Leader is an exciting milestone, but for John, and all of us at Westway IT, it’s also a reminder of why we do what we do. We’re passionate about helping local businesses thrive through technology, whether that’s by delivering responsive day-to-day support or helping shape broader conversations about the future of our industry.

We’d like to thank the Global Technology Industry Association for this recognition, and also thank all our clients, partners and peers who continue to support us on this journey. Your collaboration and trust are what make achievements like this possible.
